Our little sign in solidarity, and against the pipeline!

Driving through Churchville on 250 is a pleasant experience this time of year. The trees are turning lovely colors and many folks have gone all out decorating for Halloween. I should have taken some pictures of both of those things.

Instead, I stopped numerous times to photo the many No Pipeline signs folks had in yards and on fences. Some were from the Augusta County Alliance – a group worth checking out, but there were many homemade ones as well, all pulling on different reasons that the proposed natural gas pipeline by Dominion Resources (sister company to Dominion Power) is a bad idea and a bad fit for these areas. For more background on this issue you can read our previous article here.

I was very impressed by the level of visual resistance shown in these communities. The local paper where I was, the Highland Recorder had numerous articles and interviews on the topic as well.

In solidarity with folks in all the counties threatened by this pipeline, here are some visuals from the resistance in the area.

Keep an ear out for opportunites to support folks in affected counties and take action against the environmentally destructive, classist and all around cruddy Dominion Power/Resources!

Remember – our enemies have names, faces, and addresses!!!!
